The COVID-19 pandemic is the spread of a highly infectious disease caused by a new coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. It has spread across the world, infecting tens of millions. Over a million people have died. But the COVID-19 pandemic became a crisis because of the failure of the economic and political system in which live. It’s a system that puts profit before people, business before health and leaves hundreds of millions of people in poverty and hunger. Even when the pandemic is over, the crisis will continue.

The IUF Asia/Pacific team is working hard to support our members across the Asia-Pacific region at this very difficult time. This includes providing information that will help workers and their unions in the fight to defend our collective rights in the COVID-19 crisis and build a better world.
